Those of you who aren’t familiar with how these notes work, the basic notes are just the basic outline. It’s all the points I asked you to write down. The extensive notes are a little different. These notes are an exact relpica of what I had at the pulpit. Its a little more in depth and it adds a few analogies as well. I like to add these because sometimes I don’t say everything that I had planned to say. It’s also for if your just curious to see what I’m looking at up there.

Hey everyone!

I’m pretty sure people have been curious as far as what’s going on with our music, so I thought I would drop a short update on what we’ve been up to. Lyrical Sanctuary has been a serious blessing to both me and Cory, and we are so excited to see what God has in store for us. We have started recording with an incredible producer who God has used to bring our music to an entirely new level. Although it is a very exciting time, it is also a very slow process; especially when it comes to the funding of the project. That being said, the long process has not stopped us from producing music. God has made it very clear that He still wants us to not only create music, but continue to do shows and minister as well.

This is why Cory has been working hard in the studio to create the Green Light Mix Tape. This is a solo mix tape that just features Cory rapping over several different beats. Although that is the basic description of this mix tape, it is so much more than that. God has some specific messages He wants to deliver to his listeners that need be expressed through this mix tape. One of those messages being to move in the freedom God has granted you. We both feel this is something God has charged him to do, almost as if God has given him the green light to move in the freedom he has in Christ. (This idea is where the title derived from) It is a free album that should be released within the next couple months. (release date TBA) We are both very excited to watch God move. I have also began working on a solo e.p. but I will not be releasing any information just yet. All I ask is that you continue to keep us both in your prayers and SPREAD THE WORD!!!

Hey! Welcome to secret song monday! Every monday I will post a song that I wrote in 20 min and recorded on my phone. This is a writing excersize that I’ve been doing to help me dig deeper when it comes to writing and creating guitar riffs. There are a few other writing excerises that I’ve been doing as well which I can share at some point if your interested. It would be cool if you wrote and recorded a 20 min song too! I could post it so we all could enjoy!

Either way this is Twilight Revelation. I created the guitar riff around midnight earlier this week. I wrote it last night.

Scripture of the day: Philippians 2:1-5

For the longest time now God has made promises to me, but a lot of the big ones have yet to come to fruition. I will admit that at times I have gotten very discouraged. God has promised me an immense amount of success yet I’ve still been working the same 9 to 5 job for the past 3 years. I’ve been promised this amazing wife yet I am still single. There have been times when I’ve sat in my room and wept over the things that I didn’t have. I complained to God about how I thought he didn’t understand how I felt. I’ve yelled at Him for forcing me to go through things when he could easily step in and change my situation… Then one day I cracked. From my hardened heart the message that God had planted in me broke through the soil and began to take root. The flower that bloomed in my heart was patience, understanding and a willingness to serve an all powerful, unconditional loving, grace filled, relentlessly merciful God. You will get what God has in store for you, but just like all plants you need time to grow. That wasn’t the only thing God was teaching me either. He was also teaching me to learn how to be happy for others. This was not an easy lesson to learn, but once I got it my heart filled with joy. When you see someone else get what God has promised you, you can’t just look and say “that’s nice but I can’t wait to get mine.” God has been teaching me how to be genuinely happy for other brothers and sisters in Christ who have received their blessings before me. Instead of looking and getting anxious for your own blessing, spend that time uplifting your brother or sister in Christ. Bless their situation and pray for God to anoint it and help it flourish. The easiest way to receive a blessing is to be a blessing to others. Remember that everything God has promised you, you don’t deserve and you didn’t earn. It is given freely from God out of His unconditional love for you and you should do the same for others. Trust me when I say God rewards righteousness. My challenge for you today is to find someone who has gotten the blessing you’ve been praying and love on them; bless them, show them how much love you have for what God is doing in their lives and release your blessing onto to them so God can release His onto you…
